Περιγραφή
A collection of postcards from Thessaloniki spanning the period from 1912 to the late 1980s, divided into four sections according to their printing techniques. The collection pays tribute to the often-unseen craftsmen of this fading art, as well as to the letter writers themselves: French soldiers of the Macedonian Front, the Jews of Thessaloniki, Athenian excursionists, migrants to America, tourists, friends, and relatives.
Through this selection, Yiannis Karlopoulos presents part of his typographic archive, reconstructing a distinctive visual identity of the city while reflecting on images, moments, and aspects of its history and everyday life.
