“Will you? … Diamond is forever and so is plastic!!”
Brilliant Plastic
by Xenia Deimezi
In Brilliant Plastic, I explore the provocative union of two materials that share a paradoxical permanence: diamond, the ultimate symbol of eternity, and plastic, the synthetic residue of our age — equally indestructible, yet culturally disposable.
This collection is a reflection on value and legacy.
Diamonds are worn to mark life’s most sacred commitments. Plastic, on the other hand, is mass-produced, discarded, and forgotten — yet it remains, silently enduring in our environment for centuries. By embedding white brilliant diamonds into polyester rings and beads, I challenge the hierarchy of materials and ask :
What truly lasts? What do we choose to honor?
Each piece is one of a kind crafted with 925 silver, vibrant polymer forms, and the unmistakable clarity of diamond. The result is a collection that is both playful and profound, tactile and timeless, jewelry that can be worn as a statement, a reflection, or even an engagement ring.
The tagline “Will you? … Diamond is forever and so is plastic!!” carries a double meaning. It’s a question of love, of commitment, and of environmental consciousness.
Will you marry me? Will you commit to what endures — in love, in art, in nature?
Brilliant Plastic is not just adornment. It is a material manifesto, a symbolic contradiction, and a celebration of permanence in all its forms.
This collection uses the phrase “Will you?” to evoke both romantic commitment and environmental reflection. Brilliant Plastic uses it to highlight the irony of permanence — both in love and pollution.
